I began creating art as a way to accept my own differences, I suffered from tremors and was unable to find myself decent at most forms of art because of that. I chose my medium to compensate for my hands. The lines that are highlighted in my work stem from being unable to draw a straight line. I hope to use my art as a way of communication with those who view it. In my recent work I do this by creating an environment within my art that brings people in while suggesting certain themes using visual metaphors scattered in the artwork. Art is a language and is interpretive, I make art with this thought in mind. Misunderstanding comes from the uniqueness every human has. My art started with a desire to get away from the misunderstandings of daily life, now my artwork discusses and opens a chance for a difference to occur. We aren't taught how to confront these Differences. My art is a small space that allows for misunderstandings to arrive, i want my work now and in the future to allow the discussion of these misunderstandings and differences. And hope that the uniqueness in each person that causes it can be appreciated instead of devalued.
